Fan Community & Creative Use Policy

To Our Precious Moments Community
For nearly 50 years, Precious Moments fans including collectors, artists, clubs, groups, coordinators, attendees, supporters, Chapel visitors, and those who share their moments, stories, and collections with others, have been an integral part of our brand success and longevity. YOU are the living expression of what Samuel J. Butcher always believed: that a small act of love, shared freely, can make the world a kinder place.
We are genuinely humbled by the creativity and generosity of this community. Fan artwork, collector groups, handmade projects, and now AI-generated tributes, we see the love in all of it. This policy is not written to dim that spirit. It is written to protect it, to make sure that what you create, share, and celebrate continues to reflect the integrity and warmth that Precious Moments has always stood for.
Please read this as the loving, caring, and sharing brand we are.
What We Celebrate and What We Ask
Most fan activity is warmly welcomed. The simple framework below covers nearly every situation. If you're ever unsure, reach out before you act, we'd much rather say yes to a question than have to address something after the fact.

Fan Art & AI-Generated Content
Creating artwork inspired by Precious Moments — whether by hand or with AI tools — is a beautiful expression of community love, and we welcome it. We simply ask for two things:
- Label it clearly.
- Don't sell it without our approval.
All fan-created and AI-generated artwork must include one of the following labels directly on the image:
“Precious Moments Fan Art. Not an Official Precious Moments Product” “Unofficial fan creation, not affiliated with Precious Moments”
AI-generated content may not be used to create products for sale: prints, stickers, merchandise, digital downloads, or anything else without prior written approval. This applies even when the intent is charitable.
Fan Communities & Group Admins
We love that so many dedicated collectors run Facebook groups, forums, and online communities to celebrate Precious Moments. To operate a fan community using the Precious Moments name, we ask that you display this disclaimer prominently on your page:
“This is an independent fan community created by and for people who love Precious Moments. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Precious Moments”
We also ask group administrators to help keep their communities aligned with these guidelines, particularly around unauthorized sales and the labeling of fan and AI-generated content. You know your communities better than anyone, and we trust and appreciate your stewardship.
Commercial Use & Selling
Selling any item featuring Precious Moments characters, artwork, trademarks, or stylistic imitation (including AI-generated designs) requires prior written approval from Precious Moments, Inc. This includes apparel, tote bags, keychains, prints, digital downloads, stickers, mugs, coloring pages, and print-on-demand products on any platform.
This applies regardless of intent. We know many of our collectors create items to raise funds for the Precious Moments Chapel and Foundation, and we deeply appreciate that generosity. Even so, approval is required before any items are made or sold. We want to make sure everything is done in a way that protects everyone involved.
Fundraising for the Chapel & Foundation
There is a clear and simple path to get approval for charitable fundraising. Simply email us at commteam@preciousmoments.com with the following:
- Your name and group name
- The benefiting organization (e.g., Precious Moments Foundation or Chapel)
- A description of the product(s) and artwork you'd like to use
- Your proposed sales channel and timeframe
We will respond within 10 business days. Approval is specific to the items, designs, and timeframe you describe, please reach out before anything is produced or promoted.
A Note on Trademarks
The Precious Moments® name, logo, character names, and the Precious Moments Chapel® name are registered trademarks. You are welcome to use the Precious Moments name to describe your collection, your group, or your fan art. What you may not do is use our logo or present anything as officially licensed, endorsed, or affiliated with Precious Moments without our written authorization.
